Faithful Folk is a small, flexible
organization that
gathers communities around music giving glory to God. We do this by:
Recording CDs.
Offering concerts, workshops and retreats.
Building local partnerships in order to raise awareness
and money for important
social outreach, such as food pantries, soup kitchens, domestic
violence shelters, disaster relief, etc…
We are a music ministry of Christ’s Lutheran Church,
Woodstock, NY. We love what we do! It is a privilege to share music that is
fun, engaging, and inspires community involvement.

Tobias
|
Tobias Anderson
director, vocals, guitar, songwriting
"Faithful Folk is an amazing dimension of my ministry as a pastor.
I am daily faced with the ways in which sin affects my life and those I seek to
serve. By God's grace Faithful Folk ministers in joy to our most needful places.
I love watching how God touches others through this music ministry, and I love
lifting my voice in praise of Christ!"

Ginny
|
Ginny (Virginia) Barthel
vocals, flute, percussion
"Being a musician at heart, with no formal training or education in music,
I have spent years singing in choral groups and informal small ensembles. Faithful
Folk provides a place for me to enjoy this passion on so many different levels.
Faithful Folk gives me the opportunity to create beautiful harmonies with a God
given talent and the gift of three special people, to thank Him for all the
gifts given to us." |

David
|
David Anderson
vocals, electric bass, piano, penny whistle,
pretty much any instrument you put in front of him
"Playing bass, piano, harmonica, pennywhistle, as well as singing,
David was still in high school when he began to back up Tobias in concert and on recordings.
Since then he has graduated from college with a degree in English as well as four years of
pipe organ study and hard work with his college choir. While still in college he began working
as an organist and choir director at a Presbyterian church. He is still doing that as well as
enjoying his chance to play with Faithful Folk."

Mark
|
Mark Anderson
vocals, guitar, banjo, trumpet, percussion
"It is just possible that my advantage in years is my greatest gift to
the group. I feel very privileged to be able to play, sing, tour, and record with
these young people who are committed to proclaiming the gospel in song. If we
were not all so involved in additional work, it would be great to do it all the
time!" |
